Nancy leads the Office of Quality Initiatives (OQI), the centre for organizational excellence and leadership at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She brings 16 years of experience to her role as director (acting), with responsibilities spanning the breadth of organizational culture. Nancy leads a team dedicated to advancing an ethos of continuous improvement through their innovative work in the areas of leadership development for faculty and professional services staff, strategic planning, learning and development, Lean process improvement, benchmarking, Healthy Workplace, and strategic communications. She is an accomplished practitioner with extensive experience in the theory, design, execution and evaluation of leadership development, most notably through her work with Carleton Leader. An active member of the Network for Change and Continuous Innovation in Higher Education (NCCI), she collaborates regularly with colleagues nationally and internationally to push the frontiers of leading organizational practice in higher education.
As a trusted leader, adviser, collaborator and coach to senior leaders, faculty and professional services colleagues at all levels, Nancy has gained a profound understanding of the human experience of leadership. She is highly regarded for her ability to engage others in navigating the complexities of organizational culture, whilst embracing strategic ways of thinking in order to bring about purposeful, sustainable change, for the betterment of the university, higher education and the wider global community it serves.
